The Call to Lead
Published in Paperback by Cypress Pub Corp (02 February, 2002)
Average review score:

A Diamond in the rough for the Journey of the LeaderWe know that people who have lived the experience are the best teachers... I suspect Andrew Harvey lives leadership. At the core of leadership is humility, the willingness to know oneself, and the passion to learn. It is a journey with no destination. Harvey pegs this within the first twenty-seven pages. I believe this work is the most pragmatic and inspiring work on leadership offered today. It should be read over and over and it needs to be on every leader's bookshelf. It would be best if the principles were every leader's mind and reflected in all of their transactional behaviors.
Oddly, I don't know if the novice would see the leadership wisdom collected in Andrew Harvey's work. It is a complete library on essential leadership thinking. It is sharp and concise. It is written with the passion of a leader. For those who are well read in leadership, you will recognize this immediately and the book could well be used for soul searching or daily meditation. For those searching for what leadership is... this is a road map. Get it.

Into The FireThis book covers the period between when Calvinism first made it's move as a distinctive form of religious discontent and follows it, in a series of excellent essays, through to the period of it's solidification and uncontested leadership of the Protestant international movement. Readable and informative. One of the best books on the subject in print.

Casting for Big Ideas: A New Manifesto for Agency Managers (An Adweek Book)
Published in Hardcover by John Wiley & Sons (13 June, 2003)
Average review score:

A Window Into the Future of our Economy and Your MoneyThis is one of the first books published which gives you a real look through the window of the future of our economy. The author, with years of experience in reporting how advertising effects our purchasing choices, offers an expert's point of view of advertising, which drives our economy. It effects everyone. It deals with how people will respond to advertising in this century (i.e. television, print media, the Internet) and how it will effect us. My broker said this book was more important than the ones he recommended about investing. We are all consumers experiencing an incredible transition from t.v. to cable, from cable to satellite, from magazine and newspaper ads to e-mail and Internet ads? If you want security what could be more important than to know what's going to happen to commercials on t.v., the web, or ads that inform you of sales and discounts in your local newspaper?
Roarke Farrell is the acting district attorney and has already proved that he is one tough opponent in and out of the courtroom. Roarke will not deny the fact that he wants C.J. and he knows that she wants him too.
C.J. refuses to get involved with a lawyer, but cannot deny that she is attracted to Roarke. When C.J. finds herself being threatened over a case, and she naturally turns to Roarke. Spending more time together only fans the flame that is burning between them. Both seem to bring out the best and the worst in each other. This is a good romance with a bit of mystery.
